What have the Wellbeing Warriors been up to?
Autumn Term
This autumn term , our Wellbeing Warriors are excited to launch the Play Ambassadors project, designed to support younger children in making the most of our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) playground. Our ambassadors will take on special roles including Play Buddies, Resource Helpers, Calm Corner Guides, and Story and Role-Play Starters.
Each week, the ambassadors will lead and support activities such as helping younger children try new games, using loose parts to build dens or obstacle courses, creating imaginative role-play scenarios, and guiding mindful or calming play. They will also organise mini play challenges, encourage teamwork, and model kindness, inclusion, and safe play.
Through this initiative, older children will develop leadership, empathy, problem solving, and communication skills, while younger children gain confidence, creativity, resilience, and a sense of belonging in the playground. By combining fun, friendship, and mindfulness, the Play Ambassadors project ensures our outdoor spaces are safe, welcoming, and full of opportunity for every child.
