We’ve had exciting events, like the Christmas Fayre, and used the money to improve the school. We’ve added benches, football goals, fishponds to the playground, and planned exciting trips for the students!

St John and St James’ CofE Primary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Constitution
Mission Statement
Our mission is to enrich pupils’ education and wellbeing by enhancing school resources and experiences, while building a connected and caring community of parents and carers.
Objectives
- Enhance Educational Resources: Support the provision of additional learning materials, tools, and opportunities beyond those supplied by the Local Authority.
- Enrich Pupil Experiences: Facilitate activities, events, and programs that contribute to pupils’ personal development and enjoyment of school life.
- Promote Wellbeing: Support initiatives that nurture the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of all pupils.
- Foster Community Engagement: Encourage active participation and collaboration among parents, carers, and the wider school community.
- Build a Supportive Environment: Strengthen relationships within the school community to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all families.
Responsibilities and Powers of the Association
- Act in Furtherance of the Association’s Aims – Exercise any powers deemed necessary by the Committee to advance the objectives of the Association.
- Promotion of Objectives – Undertake any lawful activity that supports the Association’s objectives, provided that (i) No activities are conducted on school premises without the headteacher’s consent and (ii) The Association and its Committee do not interfere in the administration or management of the school.
- Fundraising and Financial Contributions – Raise funds and invite or receive contributions to support the Association’s aims.
- Asset Management – Acquire, retain, and dispose of assets of any kind as needed for the Association’s operations.
- Financial Stewardship – Cover all legitimate costs and expenses incurred in the establishment and administration of the Association and its charitable activities.
- Procurement of Goods and Services – Obtain and pay for goods and services necessary to conduct the work of the Association.
- Parental Consultation – Seek and consider the views of parents when relevant to the Association’s activities or decisions.
- Banking and Financial Operations – Open and manage bank accounts and other financial accounts as deemed necessary by the Committee.
Membership
The Members of the Association shall comprise all parents or carers of children attending the school and all teachers employed at the school.

- A small monthly donation to the PTA. If 40 parents donate as little as £2.50 (less than the price of a cup of coffee) a month, we can raise at least £100 a month for the school!
